CBI.ATTRACT Student Program

CBI.ATTRACT Student Program

The purpose of CBI.ATTRACT (G.A. No. 101004462) is to develop the entrepreneurial mindset of students as future innovation players, while ensuring that existing innovative technologies are leveraged and applied to solve societal needs. Over 16 weeks, 5 inter-university teams of multidisciplinary students study some of the innovative detection and imaging technologies developed in the context of the ATTRACT project to harness their potential and develop new solutions to address societal and ecosystem needs.

The program’s “Tech To Market” methodology is a hybrid model based on the human-centered approach of Design Thinking and Tech-Driven innovation processes to cultivate students’ ability to identify and evaluate technological opportunities with social impact at global and local levels.

ACTIVITIES

The students will connect with researchers, both those who developed the technologies and other experts, to gain a technical understanding of the technology; with users and professionals from different sectors to understand the potential impact of the technology in different contexts; and finally, they will develop different ideas in an iterative process and develop a prototype of their solution concept. The 5 teams are supported in the process by Almacube coaches, and through connecting with IdeaSquare CERN professionals during scheduled design sprints, they are pushed to come up with exponential innovation solutions closely related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
